WTF is this? It doesn’t fit in my CD player

I saw this picture on Taylor Chrien Tumblr page and thought it was absolutely hilarious.  As a child of the 80s, I can’t tell you how many of these strange looking rectangular pieces of plastic I owned.

In response to the question in smaller type, No it is not like an iPod.

    I finally got rid of my 100s of cassettes. I went through them all when Napster was around to try to identify and locate the more obscure stuff that wasn’t in my CD collection. I held onto the cassettes I could not convert to .mp3s until I no longer had anything to play them on. sigh.

    That’s ok, up until a couple of years ago when they were stolen from the basement, I had a collection of those 12″ black discs, remember LPs?

    Is it weird that I kinda miss cassette tapes? Like the title of a particular says “Love is a Mixtape”.
