About BosGuy

I’m a gay, urban, foodie and travel nut from Boston who wants to see the world and make some friends along the way.   Although I started blogging more to chronicle important events in my life and for the occasional political rant, it has evolved into a hobby.  I consider this my little corner of the internet and would like to thank you for stopping by to pay me a visit.

Most of the images on this blog are my own, but I do use images that have been emailed to me by readers and see on the web.  If you are the owner of an image and would like to be credited or want it removed, please contact me directly by email or by leaving a comment on the specific posting.

  1. What’s Up Bosguy, I stumbled across your blog (Nice) and figured I’d ask you a question. I am trying to build a black gay history in this country and wondered if you knew of any Black Gay Bars/Lounges, clubs..etc that were open PRIOR to 1990? The older the better. Just trying to trace the history of black gays in this country and where they congregate “back in the day.” Do you know the names of any past establishments that could help me out?
    Thanks

  2. Hi, my name is Alex and I am one of the founding team members of @theFavecast. We are a tool for amateur explorers to share short video recommendations that capture their favorite items and experiences.

We really like helping bloggers have more fun sharing their experiences in short video, just ask Sus and Chlo (http://bit.ly/1kTBiLf).

Your blog seemed particularly awesome, so I was wondering if you would like to talk about ways to make short video a cool component of your blog, either online or over coffee.

We can even offer you our awesome Favecast preview version for you to try out before we release publicly!

I look forward to talking further,

    Alex

  3. I really like the blog! I love the concept behind it, plus it’s cool that it shows how gay people are just like everyone else. I am a new blogger and would love to link your blog on my site and maybe help one another out? If not I understand but I would really like it :)

  4. Hey,

What I find so difficult for a new guy here is to get to make some gay friends who like clubbing.

Think you have something to say on that?

  5. Hi BosGuy,

I would like to share this event to you and your friends. I know you will love this event.

Zozi is giving away free tickets to the Boston Tomato Bash. This is an enormous tomato fight! You will be making ketchup with your body while covering your friends in handfuls of red goo!

    http://www.thetomatobash.com

Can you let your friends know about this? Zozi is buying tickets from us and giving them away for free for a limited time.

Here is where people can get their free tickets:

Please let us know if you can let your group know about the free tickets.

We look forward to hearing from you.

  8. Hi BosGuy!
Let me introduce myself, I’m Alex, a 31 year old Brazilian gay guy.
I’m so glad I was looking for something new, I don’t know, something different to see and found your blog!
I’m having a good time readind your posts, I’ve read some of them, and be sure I’ll be coming back frequently from now on.
I’d also like to express my sadness when I knew about the recurring tradegy in the US this week… I hope God bless each one of the people, each one of the families who directly or not make part of the history and of those who died in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
    Hugs and hugs!

  9. Great blog. I’ve been following you for a while now. That said, I was hoping you could help guide me to a hotel near the Boston Harbor. I’d like to stay walking distance from the Boston Harbor Cruise location (Long Wharf). My partner and I will be heading to Ptown in July and will need to stay a night or two before catching the ferry over. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mark

  10. I found your blog after a google search of BoMa (where I live two minutes away from). The lighting fixtures look great but ultimately what will make the greatest amount of relevance is the skill and warmth of the employees they hire. If the staff sucks it wont matter to me how pretty the inside looks (and I’m amazed at the type of people who get hired to interact with the public and decided to leave their charming personality with their jacket in the employee locker room).

  11. Dear Bosguy, I have been a regular reader of your blog for over a year now. Needless to say I like it – the variety of content, the humor, the teasers! I am from Nashville. My partner and I are contemplating a short trip to Boston towards the end of Sept for a couple of days. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on where to stay (neighborhoods that are not too expensive) and a few suggestions on dinner and places to visit. Best wishes AD

    • That’s sweet of you, but I consider my blog more like a low-brow, bawdier version of National Public Radio. No advertising. There’s plenty of that stuff everywhere else. Hope you are good D-man.

  20. My name is Travis Lowry, I am a long time BosGuy reader and I recently founded Rainbow Chronicle, the first and only site which allows users to rate any person, business or event according to its gay friendliness. We are trying to spread the word about our recent launch and were wondering if you would be interested in doing a post on us? We have been in the Herald (http://bostonherald.com/business/technology/general/view.bg?articleid=1403461) the Cambridge Chronicle (http://www.wickedlocal.com/cambridge/news/x740684718/Cambridge-entrepreneurs-create-rating-site-catering-to-gay-community#axzz1nsgwqixk) and MTV (http://voices.mtv.co.uk/2012/01/rainbow-chronicle/) but sites like yours are super helpful with grassroots growth.

  21. Hey there,

Gaston here. Moving to Boston next month and looking forward to it. I’m not that much into blogging (don’t even have facebook or twitter… guess I’m a gay caveman technologically speaking), but found your blog useful.
Would like to get connected to other professional gay men in Boston, in their 30′s-40′s to hang around with and get to know people and places. No particular agenda here, just trying to connect and find interesting people. Let me know!
