Hanging with Gay Jim from KISS 108 FM

Manhunt Mansion Party

Theater Offensive Fundraiser: Masquerade

This past Friday I attended the Theater Offensive’s masquerade fundraiser at the Manhunt mansion in Brookline. You always know it is a good party when “Gay” Jim Clerkin from KISS 1o8 FM is spinning music for a party.  Jim is such a sweetheart and he always seems to be surrounded by such handsome, friendly guys. #Good2BTheDJ.

Best TV-inspired Halloween costume

Halloween Costume CheersEarlier this week my brother gave me a heads up about the HuffingtonPost article, TV-inspired Halloween costumes. I have to agree with HuffPost that this TV-inspired costume is the best ever evah.

What you dressing up as on Halloween

Halloween hobo homoOne of the things that I love about my mother is her ability to remember and share funny memories from our past.  Earlier this week my mother sent this funny email to my younger brother and me.

“I remember one Halloween when you (MY BROTHER) wanted to be a homo.    Rob corrected you and said, ‘You mean a hobo.’ Funny how life turns out!

Love, Mom”

Choose wisely

Bad Halloween costumeTomorrow evening is Halloween.  It is a rather big holiday here in the US and many spend a great deal of time and effort thinking about costumes to wear.

My favorite costume from last year was the  “Binders Of Women” that mocked then Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, but while creativity is definitely appreciated be careful when choosing your costume otherwise you too can be mocked on the Internet for years to come.

Spooky Bear weekend in Provincetown

Halloween in ProvincetownStill trying to figure out what you want to dress up as for Halloween?  Ptown’s Spooky Bear Weekend has chosen a fun theme for their party at The Crown & Anchor.  This looks like it would be hilarious and I’m sorry I won’t be there to see all these guys in their costumes.

Will you be heading to Ptown for one of the many Halloween parties?  Do tell.

Best Halloween costume of 2012

I know that Halloween has come and gone, but I just stumbled upon this image from Seduced By The New blog and had to share this costume of “Binders full of Women”.

Halloween in the South End

Boston HalloweenBoston’s South End neighborhood is an amazing place if you are of Trick or Treat age.  My neighborhood lacks the wild revelry in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and elsewhere, but I love the low-key fun of watching thousands of kids walking up to each Bowfront Victorian for candy.

As you can see, its not just the kids who really get into the spirit of the holiday.

Here are a few more photos of some of the people out and about in the South End for Halloween last night.  Click on the image to enlarge.

Part of our “Halloween tradition” which includes walking around part of the neighborhood is to stop by one particular home on Union Park Street because of their amazing pumpkin displays.  This year had a Dr. Seuss theme.  Below are photos of several of the Seuss O’Lanterns.  As with the collection of photos above, click on the image to enlarge. Much thanks to Sergio for taking all these fantastic photos.

Spotted: Big Bird in the South End

Not the most creative costume but funny nonetheless.

Happy Halloween

Most of us celebrated Halloween this past weekend, but considering today is Halloween, I thought I’d feature a couple of costumes.
