I’m currently reading a great book that has captured my imagination called, A Discovery of Witches. It is an historical-fantasy novel by Deborah Harkness, that centers on Diana Bishop, an alchemical history professor at The University of Oxford who is compelled to embrace her magical heritage, which she has ignored and engage in a forbidden romance with a charming vampire.

Just finished “Clementine: The Life of Mrs. Winston Churchill,” by Sonia Purnell, a fascinating account of an overlooked 20th-century political hostess. Clemmie understood the value of hospitality and top-quality food, and especially researching what your guests do and don’t like.

It’s Lent, so in true fashion, am reading “Christ the Lord” by Anne Rice. If you’re familiar with the Vampire series, the book will present to you a side of the author you might never expect.

‘A Gentleman in Moscow’ by Amor Towles, loved his first book too, ‘The Rules of Civility’. He writes beautifully.

I must recommend Karen Armstrong’s “Islam.”
Also of note, Sunday 2 April many mosques are hosting open houses for us all to explore and learn. Education is the best medication.

I just finished a wonderful, prize winning novel called “Call Me By Your Name”, written by Andre Aciman It is so beautiful and true to the gay coming of age experience that it kept me riveted on every page. It’s a very hot and romantic story of a sudden and powerful romance blossoming between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents’ mansion on the Italian Riviera. It’s a beautiful summer read which, I believe, is relatable to every gay man’s experience growing up.
