Halloween season, haunted houses and more

Halloween, Boston, Provincetown, Providence, OgunquitTis the season to scare the crap out of oneself. While I’m no expert on this sort of thing, I’ve done some digging to share with you information about haunted houses in the area that you can visit. I’ve not attended any of these locations so share your comments to help others pick and choose the best haunted house.

Barrett’s Haunted Mansion is in Abington MA. Oct 23rd  they will host their special Darkness Unleashed, which requires advance ticket purchase and Devil’s Night on Oct 30th. Sunday thru Thursday they have a $5 off coupon on their tickets page of their website, bhmansion.com.

Factory of Terror has three locations in Worcester, West Warwick, RI and Fall River, and for their 20th anniversary they have a special offer when you buy 1 ticket that lets you visit a second location for free. More details about individual locations, tickets and hours can be found on their website, factoryofterror.com.

Spooky World may be the largest haunted house in the area. This year Spooky World presents “Nightmare in New England”. Based on feedback I read online, it seems like you will want to purchase either their VIP or Super VIP tickets, but these come at a hefty price, starting at $65 (VIP) or $80 (Super VIP) on Friday and Saturday nights. scary, salemFew cities or towns in the world embrace the Halloween holiday like Salem, MA. For those who have never visited this town in October, I would highly recommend it. When I was in my 20s a friend of mine had an apartment overlooking the Salem Common and I’d go to his annual Halloween party.
