This week’s brain teaser: Two fathers and two sons are in a car, yet there are only three people in the car. How is that possible?

answer is assuming there is a relationship between the people
Grandmother son of grandmother grandson of grandmother
not a father (#1)father of grandson (#2) father of great grandchild

great grandson not in the car this is assuming that #2 son has a son
but we are assuming relationships between the three in the car
with three unrelated persons
thus you have to make one of the person not male
X has to be male Y has to be male Z cannot be male
could be father could be father cant be father
is a son of his parents is a son of his parents cant be son
3 people in the car two are fathers two are sons none are related
so another answer

Ross was correct the question asked – who were fathers and who were sons it did not state they had to be in the car. So a grandmother and her son and
her sons son – the grandson could be a father also….. just his son would not have been in the car Thus the questions answer could be grandmother , son, grandson.

I’m not sure I follow. The riddle says two fathers and two sons are in a car. Yet there are only three people in the car. How is that possible?

Two men and one woman in the car. Both men are fathers, and each of them is someone’s son. The woman cannot be a father, or a son.
