About BosGuy

I am a gay, urban, foodie and travel nut who lives in Boston’s South End. I started blogging about gay life in Boston and Provincetown in the fall of 2007 as a hobby. The hobby turned into a passion and now I have more than 12,000 blog posts on BosGuy.com, making me the longest running and preeminent blogger for LGBTQ life in Boston, Provincetown and New England.

If there is something happening that would be of interest to the LGBTQ community, gay life in Boston, Provincetown or New England, or that is about the arts, dining or travel, contact me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

  4. I have a ❓

Why did you come up with Furry Friday?

I’m kind of taking offense to that you want to post in the game Massachusetts room.
It seems like you’re creating something that’s already been done a million times.
Do we really want something that is shallow and insignificant and having good looking hairy men.
I am the world’s biggest fan of hairy men don’t get me wrong.
But all you’re going to post as you have so far is good looking muscle hairy men.
There’s a million sites I can go on for that if that was my fetish.
And again what gave you the idea for specifically targeting furry muscular men to post?
I’m tired of being online with total lack and loss of personal interaction. Anything we read, anything we see example the pictures of good looking muscular hairy men, emails texts.
It’s what I call being perspective.

Example 1. The English language words have many meanings to each one or a group or phrase. I’m may use certain words or phrase with my perspective of what they mean but when you read them you’re going to get a different perspective. That’s because we’re on line.
If you look at any site including gay Massachusetts, people only see a picture. Immediately they get an impression that’s called being perspective. That doesn’t mean that your idea of that person is correct, this brings us back to interpersonal communication.
That’s what I hate about online and gay supposed dating sites.
If I see a picture if you got a big smile Bright eyes and not a pig profile your personality it will make you attractive. Let’s not be so superficial and just put up the good looking hairy muscle guys, let’s bring reality back to the gay world it’s not all pornographic. There’s actual feelings and emotions.

I’m not tearing you apart I’m very glad you found a new calling in life and I wish you all the best with it. And I think you should do what makes you happy but just make sure that what you do can be accessed by those who want and not put in front of the faces of those who don’t.

Thanks for letting me get off my soapbox LMAO have a wonderful one and good luck and God bless

    • Hi Max,
I always welcome people reaching out to share their point of view and appreciate when others share a counter perspective respectfully like you did. Truth be told, I don’t recall posting a Furry Friday on the game room Massachusetts but may have been done by accident (meaning to choose another group). I most often post on Massachusetts Gay Guys, Queer Nightlife / Events, and Boston LGBT Events.

As for why I post on FB groups – it is mostly because it is a way to engage w/ people. Hope that is a helpful response. I haven’t a clue about the group you mentioned. I just double-checked and it doesn’t seem to be one of my “favorites” on my FB page so unsure how I posted there.

You rank higher than some of mine for https://mymembershipcards.com and it’s not fair!

    Keep up the GREAT WORK!

  15. Greetings,

I hope your week is off to a great start. I recently found your website while searching for thought leaders in the men’s fashion world and quickly found myself getting lost in the posts. You’ve developed an amazing platform and I love the storytelling methods you utilize to engage your readers.

I’m reaching today because I would like to know if you were going to be featuring any new and menswear products on your site, and if so, if you’d be interested in reviewing TaniUSA’s cutting-edge luxury underwear. TaniUSA has developed an innovative Micro Modal fabric that’s proven to be softer and more comfortable than traditional silk, providing greater fit and comfort for improved sleep, better body temperature control, and advanced moisture-wicking capabilities. Our progressive, eco-friendly products have been receiving rave reviews, and we were recently featured in Forbes magazine where we spoke in detail about how TaniUSA has been disrupting the luxury underwear/loungewear market.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/josephdeacetis/2019/08/26/tani-usa-rocks-luxury-loungewear-with-micro-modal-air-fabrics-stretch-and-recovery/?fbclid=IwAR3jXBHU2g3idI4jOzoQVDhJ4EW96I1Dod6YOc4C0aeNCuAeDlJoLBS0e1s#22b377143a85

We believe that TaniUSA’s products would be the perfect fit for both you and your followers, as it’s a product designed with a strong emphasis on quality, comfort, and sustainability. We understand that you only want to recommend the best styles and products to your readership, and we believe ours is comparable to none. We would love to send you some of our product to test it out for yourself, and would be glad to continue the conversation if you’re interested.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, as I’m sure you receive numerous inquiries on a daily basis. If you would like to jump on a call to discuss things further, I’d be glad to.

    With gratitude,
    Johnell

  17. Hi,

I’m one of the producers of Story Club Boston, a storytelling/reading show at the Milky Way Lounge in Jamaica Plain. Our shows attempt to bring together a mix of featured storytellers ranging from seasoned veterans and performers to people from all walks of life. In addition, we also feature an open mic portion where audience members can tell their own five-minute story based on the night’s theme.

To that end, we would like to invite you to join us as one of our featured storytellers at an upcoming show. We feel that you’d be a great storyteller and offer our audience a unique perspective. Past storytellers have included standup comedians, actors, writers, community leaders, politicians, members of the Boston Derby Dolls roller derby team, local chefs and bartenders, etc.

If you’re interested in joining us and/or would like more information, please feel free to contact me at this email address. Hope to hear from you soon and hope you can join us.

    Sincerely,

I was feeling really awkward surrounded by all the pretty people wearing the eqivalent of not so flattering underwear, but you took the best picture of myself I’ve probably ever had despite that.

  27. What’s Up Bosguy, I stumbled across your blog (Nice) and figured I’d ask you a question. I am trying to build a black gay history in this country and wondered if you knew of any Black Gay Bars/Lounges, clubs..etc that were open PRIOR to 1990? The older the better. Just trying to trace the history of black gays in this country and where they congregate “back in the day.” Do you know the names of any past establishments that could help me out?

  36. I found your blog after a google search of BoMa (where I live two minutes away from). The lighting fixtures look great but ultimately what will make the greatest amount of relevance is the skill and warmth of the employees they hire. If the staff sucks it wont matter to me how pretty the inside looks (and I’m amazed at the type of people who get hired to interact with the public and decided to leave their charming personality with their jacket in the employee locker room).
