Red White & Royal Blue is a gay romance novel written by Casey McQuiston in 2019. When I reviewed the book in 2020, I described it as “a lighthearted beach novel with a scripted storyline that was as unrealistic as it was humorous with ridiculous scenarios playing out page after page”.
Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine portray the unlikely couple, and they are supported by a cast with some big names including Uma Thurman and Stephen Frye. I’m a sucker for RomComs and I enjoyed the book for what it was – an entertaining distraction and hope the movie will be as enjoyable to watch as the novel by McQuiston was to read.

Honestly, I haven’t been this excited about a movie release in a long time. I’ve read the book more than once and really enjoy it. I hope the movie does justice to the book, and from the preview, it looks like it might have (then again too often the preview only shows the best part). Since I work from home on Fridays, I will be watching it as soon as I can. While I have not seen Taylor Zakhar Perez in anything, I thought Nicholas Galitzine did a good job in Handsome Devil.
