Mount Auburn Cemetery

Mount Auburn CemetaryFounded in 1831, The Mount Auburn Cemetery is the final resting place for some very famous Bostonians including Mary Baker Eddy, Isabella Stewart Gardner, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to name a few.  Consecrated in 1831 this is the Nation’s first landscaped cemetery and is a National landmark. The space is too large to see in one visit but the exquisite grounds with sculptures and romantic landscape makes this worth visiting.  At the cemetery’s highest point resides a 60+ foot granite tower in honor of President Washington that provides an exceptional view of Boston and the cemetery.
