Last night I went to see the Lyric Stage of Boston production of The Temperamentals.
“Temperamental” was code for “homosexual” in the early 1950’s and this off-Broadway play revolves around Harry Hay, his lover, Rudi Gernreich, a Viennese refugee and designer, and the men who first came together to build the first gay rights organization in the United States.
