I’ve been known to vary widely with my tipping; taking extra offense at bad or rude service and adding extra $ when the service is personal or coming from someone I feel like I know. I’ve had people mostly from outside the US reach out to me with questions about tipping in the past so when I saw this chart assembled by waitbutwhy.com I thought I’d share it.

  1. Waiter yes, Delivery Yes, Takeout No, Bartender Yes, Barista – no need I don’t do coffee. Cabbie Yes, Valet and Bellman – where the hell do you see them? Doorman – nope. Hair, nail salon – never did and no need as I have an in house aesthetician.
