Revising my earlier comment: Michael Rennie in The Day the Earth Stood Still. Though i cannot verify if the picture featured here is that actor. This is only MHO.

The gentleman sitting reminds me of an actor who played in a late 50s early 60s sci fi movie. The name of which eludes me at the moment.
