Dani’s Queer Bar (update)

Back in March, Dani’s Queer Bar announced they would be targeting June 1st for their grand opening – one week before Boston Pride. However, in a recent announcement, they posted on their Instagram account last month, one of the co-owners indicated they will not be able to open until later this summer.

Dani’s Queer Bar will be Boston’s only lesbian bar when it opens. Past bars that cater to lesbians closed decades ago as part of a much larger trend. According to the Lesbian Bar Project (yeah, that’s a thing), Dani’s Queer Bar would be only the 28th lesbian bar in the entire country.

DANI’s queer bar poised to open in Back Bay

In January, LGBTQ Night Life events announced they would be opening a new bar in Boston called Dani’s Queer Bar. Late last night Universal Hub cited an article in the Simmons Voice that said Dani’s Queer Bar will open in the space formerly known as the Pour House. While no opening date was confirmed, it is believed it is only weeks away.

While the bar will welcome everyone, LGBTQ Night Life has said of Dani’s, “Our mission is to open Boston’s first Queer Bar for women and non-binary LGBTQ+ community members who feel like we have no place.” I hope this comes to pass. It would be great to see a Lesbian Bar open in such a prominent location.

LGBTQ Night Life Events announces new space for Boston’s queer women and non-binary LGBTQ+ community

LGBTQ Nightlife Events is a Boston-based organization hosts monthly and bi-monthly LGBTQ events including, Issa Vibe: QTBIPOC Mixers, O Baile Funk LGBTQ, Queer EMO Night Pity Party, and Sapphic Nights.

Earlier this month, the organizations shared that they had secured a dedicated space to host their parties and will be announcing more details about the new LGBTQ+ bar at their Sapphic Nights party on Saturday, January 28th at The House of Blues.

The space, Dani’s Queer Bar, will be open to all but dedicated to and for Boston’s queer women and non-binary LGBTQ+ community. About Sapphic Nights
Sapphic Nights is a bimonthly dance party that has been hosted at The Good Life, since at least the fall of 2021 when I first learned about it. The announcement of a new, dedicated space for LGBTQ Nightlife Events and their Saphhic Nights parties couldn’t be better timed since the host space for these parties, The Good Life, closed its doors in December 2022.
