Earlier this morning, Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe on Columbus Avenue in the South End, announced via Twitter that they would be closing at the end of June. Charlie’s first opened their doors in 1927 and has remained a popular cheap eats diner serving mostly South End residents, but through the years many a celebrity has stopped in to be photographed while enjoying some of their famous hash.
