Thanksgiving winter wonderland

IMG_0559.JPGA large snowstorm hit northern New England the day before Thanksgiving, transforming New Hampshire’s Lakes Region into a picture perfect winter wonderland. Bright skies and rising temperatures on Thanksgiving made for some spectacular scenes with the green hues of the lake surrounded by the pristine white of the new fallen snow.

IMG_0560.JPGThe photos are from our evening walk the night before when the snow was piling higher with each passing hour and before the snow plows had a chance to clear the roads.

  2. There have been two special times in my life that have stood the test of time and they were some time ago. The first was when I was a kid and we had had an ice storm. The sky was clear the next morning and the whole world was made out of crystal. It sparkled like diamonds. The second happened sometime in my late twenties, we were duck hunting and had gone to the river, the mist had come up off the river and condensed on all the trees and bushes into a frosty morning.

  3. It’s a beautiful house made only more beautiful by the weather (and the men). Perfect for when you don’t have to be anywhere.
