I want to dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price.  Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

  2. I so appreciate these vintage photos – mostly because in July I’ll hit the big 6-0 and adore to see love throughout the years.

My mother and her brother — my Uncle Peter (English name) survived the Holocaust and were reunited seven years after the war here in Boston – both thinking the other was murdered.

Pete had immediately two strikes against him. He was both a Jew and gay.

Before the Shoah he left Poland to go to Weimar (Germany) and perform in the cabaret scene.

In the US he met Karl and they lived mostly under the radar – in 1970 when I came out Pete, Karl, mom and dad were the audience.

And a brilliant example of love and acceptance.

I’ll email you a photo of Pete and Karl for consideration of a future post.
