By the time this publishes most of you will have heard about the mass shooting at the gay club in Orlando called Pulse and maybe there will be more information. According to accounts from the scene, the gunman traded gunfire with police officer before entering Pulse at 2 a.m.
Most of the estimated 320 people inside escaped, but an unknown number were taken hostage in a bathroom. Current reports indicate 20 were killed and 42 injured. What a sad way to close out Boston Pride.
More information available on CNN here.

My heart is so heavy. With 50 dead this is the largest mass shooting in United States history. Pulse is second in size to the Parliament House – but in addition to the traditional club model they have weekly health related events.
I’ve been to the club so many times since it opened in 2004/5 I can not count.
From a friend of mine who lives just outside of Orlando tells me the community is in the process of setting up two funds – one for the deceased and a second for those injured both physically and emotionally.
In the meantime, please call, email, write to your US Representative and Senator, your governor, State Representative and Senator and advocate for the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban.
No one (except law enforcement and military) needs an assault weapon. No one.
May the memories of each person murdered be a blessing.
May all who have been wounded receive healing of spirit, mind and body.
