Early 1980s
This week’s post will likely raise a number of eyebrows from readers who don’t think of themselves as vintage but who clearly remember the 1980s.
However, the post is dedicated to the men and women who were brave to live out and proud at a time in our history when it was both dangerous and difficult to do so. With the AIDS epidemic and an unsympathetic president in Washington, it took a lot of cojones to be out and let’s face it the fashion while sometimes tragic is a lot of fun to look at so indulge me this week with this photo. It really was a difficult time. Looking Fabulous was a joy and a curse. I know Mousse gave me an advantage, It held my hair up, while I was holding my head up! I’ve been married now for over ten years, with my partner for over 30 years, those days, the 80’s, steeled me for life. Silence = Death. It’s that easy to understand, and I’ll never forget.
