Christmas is less than a week away and according to AAA a record 107.3 million Americans will travel during the year-end holidays. A healthy local economy here in Massachusetts, increasing consumer confidence and relatively low gas prices are cited by AAA as reasons cited for the record number of Americans expected to travel this holiday season.
If you need to drive, AAA has issued a notice that travel will be most congested in the Boston area starting Thursday, December 21st. They also said that the hours between 2:30PM and 4:30PM will be wicked bad. Well those weren’t their official words but you get the picture. AAA predicts the roads will be twice as packed then as commuters are joined by those leaving early for the holiday.
