Love this photo of guys hanging out in front of the San Francisco gay bar Badlands. Based on their attire, I’m going to assume this was taken in the 1980s, but not 100% sure about that. It seems the first “Gay Softball World Series” took place for the 1st time in 1977. It was the “2nd annual GWS, from Sept. 5th to Sept. 10th”. So, may be in 1978…

According to Wikipedia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Gay_Amateur_Athletic_Alliance), the 2nd Gay World Series (advertised on the sign) was in 1978 in NY. The Badlands team won the first in 1977.

The North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) was founded in 1977. The 2nd annual Gay Softball World Series was in 1978 in New York City. Apparently some people thought there were too many straights in the league and there were charges of anti-straight discrimination.

Based upon the sign welcoming the softball teams, I would make a guess at 1978/1979.
