I’d like to give a shout out to the following events that will take place this weekend starting with Boston’s Annual Donna Summer Outdoor Roller Disco Party which takes place tonight and the 6th Boston Jerkfest and Caribbean Food Festival which runs all weekend.

There are plenty of show openings this weekend that you might want to check out as well including Wicked Mean Gurlz (Boston),  Star Boys: A Sci-Fi Burlesque (Ptown) Male Call (Ptown) and Raja from RPDR  (Ptown).

Lastly, be sure to  head over to the DotOUT Annual Summer Solstice Tea Dance  at dbar, which starts at 4PM on Sunday.

The group invites everyone to share their story and help build a community that “embraces individuality through the labels we choose for ourselves and to stand together to affect change.”

This week’s Saturday morning coffee is inspired by this photo of Massachusetts native, Joe Putignano, who now lives in NYC where he tends bar, is a personal trainer and more. His contortions and sexy photos (like this one) make for an interesting Instagram account to follow.

Pride is much more than parties and parades. What I think some people fail to recognize is in the face of hostility, legislated discrimination and violence, focusing on love and celebrating that love can be a far more effective tonic than channeling negative emotions. That is why Pride is and always will be at its core a political message: We’re here and we’re not going anywhere. #KillTheCloset
