Thank you, merci, obrigado, gracias, danke, grazie, toda, shukran, arigato, salamut

It has been quite some time since I’ve said thank you.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how many of you bookmark my blog, subscribe to receive posts and “like” my posts on facebook.  My blog is still a mere baby by comparison to all the “big kid blogs” out there, but it provides me much satisfaction, certainly makes for an engaging hobby and has allowed me to meet a lot of really interesting people.

I wanted to once again say “thank you” to new and long-time readers alike. Hopefully your native language has not been overlooked in the title. I tried to include native languages from the countries where nearly all my readers reside.

Here’s a big virtual hug from me to you.

Spring has sprung

Did the wicked warm temperatures have you fooled? You may not have realized that spring has officially sprung. Get out and enjoy the good weather.

Happy hump day

I’m not a numbers kind of guy. Ask anyone who knows me and they can assure you I struggle with nearly all forms of statistics.

However for people who work Monday thru Friday, one thing I’m quite aware of is that at the end of the day 60% of the work week will be completed.  So I’d like to wish you a very happy “Hump Day”.

Dow flirts with 13,000 and I could give a…

Yesterday news anchors were proudly cheering that the Dow briefly crossed 13,000 for the first time since the start of the recession in 2008.  I’m sure this is great news for the economy, but this has no relevance to me.  My investments show very little to be happy about and while I recognize that over time I will (hopefully) earn back all those losses it is still hard to manufacture the same enthusiasm as the broadcasters.

Dow reaching 13,000 = The wealthy getting wealthier

I recognize that this post may seem like whining to those who truly are in economic distress (and trust me I have a lot to be thankful for), but I suppose all those ridiculous smiles on television last night really got under my skin.  It’s tough to get excited about the fact that Mitt Romney probably made a cool million yesterday while I was personally congratulating myself on spending only $10 all day.

Give those negative feelings an eviction notice

At the risk of getting all Oprah-ish on you, I thought I’d share this picture from Tales of the Sissy blog.  For some reason many people have a hard time letting go when angered, frustrated or feel wronged.  Ironically, the feelings on the opposite end of the spectrum love, happiness and justice can be far more fleeting.

Maybe you can share this little bit of mental-health advice to someone and save them a trip to the shrink (not to mention probably lower their blood pressure).

BosGuy.com optimized for iPad

One of the things I love about my new online home http://www.BosGuy.com is I am able to optimize my blog for iPad users.  The image above to the left shows the cover which features the most recent posting and the image to right shows the details of the most recent postings.   For those of you using an iPad, I hope you enjoy the enhanced interface.

Now that’s a rock

Okay ladies, try not to salivate too much, but Petra Diamonds Ltd. in Johannesburg, South Africa says a diamond the size of a chicken egg was found today.  I’m not much for diamonds or jewelry in general but even this gave me pause to look at in wonder.  The Associated Press is saying that the diamond may be among the world’s top 20 high-quality gems.  Johan Dippenaar, the company’s chief executive said in a statement Tuesday that the 507.55-carat gem was of “exceptional color and clarity.
