Out Magazine has published the “100 Greatest Gay Albums”. Truth is they are great albums period, but the gay community new this first and embraced them ahead of the curve. I say this in part because I’m afraid I just might be a cliche. A quick look at the album covers featured made me blanch. At one point I owned or was regularly singing along to nine of the twelve featured albums (the red indicates which albums I’m referring to).
I find these lists a bit ridiculous, but I always peruse them. In case you are wondering Madge makes five appearances on the top 100 appearing respectively at #7, #36, #46, #86 and #87. I might have bumped her up a bit and included a few other of her CDs but this isn’t my list.
