Is Grammy Award-winning rapper and Academy Award-nominee Queen Latifah setting the stage (so to speak) to come out later this month? Who can say, but she certainly has raised the eyebrows of many in the LGBT community by headlining this year’s annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival on May 19th.
According to the event website, this is Queen Latifah’s first ever engagement at a Pride celebration. Although Latifah has never come out as a lesbian, I have always assumed she was part of our community and will continue to assume so until she comes out as heterosexual. Either way, it is a coup for the Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival to get such a big name and such a talented woman.

This would be telling except TONS of straight acts (in fact almost exclusively) headline Pride fest all over the states.

very true but not all those acts have had the rumors of being in the closet and for some of those who were not gay when they headlined – years later they did come out… Ethridge, Lang, and others come to mind.
