Gay marriage does not cause hurricanes

This quote from the HBO series, Newsroom, perfectly describes the main problem I have with the Republican Party.  One might choose to believe that the Republican Party isn’t quite that extreme, but I’d like to remind everyone of the responses from many in the Republican Party after the Supreme Courts’ rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s shameful Prop 8.
