The Catholic Archdiocese of Boston has placed the Holy Trinity German Church at 136 Shawmut Avenue in the South End on the market and is likely to be converted into apartments or condos. The 1877 granite building is 26,900 square feet and has a four story residence and office space. This section of the South End that leads up to the Mass Pike (I-90) has seen a lot of development in the past few years and I welcome the conversion of this space into a building that will hopefully increase foot traffic and welcome more people into the neighborhood. You may check out the property listing here.

Any word on price or shall we just watch as developers enter into a “Price War” over this space? After all if you look at the church on Broadway next to Stephi’s the developers did an amazing job converting that one… Millions to be made!!
