For those unfamiliar with the Broadway musical, Rent is loosely based on Puccini’s opera La Bohème and tells the story of a group of poor young artists struggling to survive and create a life in New York City’s East Village during the height of the AIDS epidemic and before the Disneyfication of New York City.
The Dorchester-based Fiddlehead Theatre will be presenting their production of the much loved rock musical later this week on Friday, February 5th. Rent runs through Sunday, February 21st at the Back Bay Events Center at the John Hancock in Back Bay.
