I love Meetup.com, it is a great way to help people connect in a city like Boston where it can be hard to meet people with similar interests. Although I am most definitely not a camper, Meetup.com had suggested this Gay Men’s group and I thought I’d share for all of you who like to commune with nature.
The group has a camping trip scheduled for later this month in Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, MA on Friday, August 26th. If you cannot make that date, be sure to like the group (see the link below) to get updates on future trips.
The group is described as “New England Gay Men Camping is a social outdoor adventure group for gay men only. For all active gay male singles, couples and friends who appreciate nature, love hiking, enjoy backpacking, have a passion for exploring and can do without wi-fi and a blow dryer for a weekend. In some cases, no electricity or water. Can you handle it?”
While I don’t need a blow dryer, the idea of no electricity makes me queasy but I’m betting there are a few of you who may like this and want to check it out.

Met a couple of gay old timers on a trail at Big Bend. Conversed for a while, then went our separate ways. Later, I asked hubs, “Do you think we’ll still be a couple of old gay guys camping in Big Bend?”. He replied, “We are a couple of old gay guys camping in Big Bend.”!
Apologies if I’ve told this tale before, I’m way older and still camping.

Hey Michael it’s Michael from GayMenCamping.com — Sorry, to have just caught your post but wanted to say thank you for the kind words. I just listed a few new dates and you should try it. There are showers and bathrooms at the state parks. haha.
Oh, and yes, we have a Facebook page. Didn’t really use it, but will this year. Thanks again.

My idea of camping is a Holiday Inn. One exception is Sawgrass in Florida. My friend Troy journeys once a year from Edmonton, AB and stays a month – I visit for a couple of days – and rent one of the cabins. Nice facility – lots of good times.
