Earlier this month it was announced that Ryan Reynolds will be awarded the Hasty’s Pudding Man of the Year 2017. The producer and Golden Globe-nominated actor will come to Harvard Square to recieve his pudding pot on Friday, February 3. There’s no word on the theatrical group’s Woman of the Year award just yet.
Hasty Pudding Theatricals is the oldest theater organization in the country. Every year, the group honors a man and a woman who’ve made significant contributions to the entertainment world. Then, they roast the winners and host a parade in Harvard Square. Reynolds is the 51st recipient of the Man of the Year award, which was established in 1963.

For some reason, every time I saw the phrase “hasty pudding,” I kept thinking it was “tasty pudding.” I wonder why!

I think the award was established in 1967 as that would equate to Ryan being the 51st recipient.
