Vintage gay

Monday – May 8th – is “VE Day” short for Victory Europe Day. It is recognized in the US and England as the defeat of the German Nazi’s and an end to war in Europe.  Rudolf Brazer (shown above laying on his side) is shown with a friend presumably in Germany somewhere prior to the outbreak of war. Rudolf has the distinction of being the last known concentration camp survivor deported by Nazi Germany on charges of homosexuality. He passed away on August 3, 2011.

  3. Oh, my, BosGuy! This “Vintage Gay” Photo is a great find.

Aside from the “hubba hubba” factor, I love the story behind the photograph.

Although it seems a bit passe these days, there are times when I feel led to wear my pink triangle button. Thanks for this important memory and “Vintage Gay” Photo.
