Vintage gay

This week’s wonderful photo of Frank Rogers & Jack Lizak dates back to 1942. I swiped this image from Dan Keller who posted it on the Facebook group, Vintage Workingmen Beefcake.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

  1. While 1942 was at the beginning of U.S. involvement in World War II, neither appears to be wearing a military uniform and the subject on the right does not appear to have a standard military haircut.
Additionally, both appear to be in their 20s.

  2. Considering the size of the photo corners and the closeness of the subjects, I would say this was taken in a photo booth.
