The Bourne Legacy opens August 3, 2012

Bourne Legacy

Years ago when I was in high school and college I read the Bourne Trilogy by Robert Ludlum and I loved the books. Despite my squeamish nature that shies away from violence, I love the suspense and story lines of a good espionage novel.

It looks like Hollywood is not ready to say good bye to this series which has raked in hundreds of millions of dollars and in August a new Bourne movie called The Bourne Legacy will open in theaters.

The strange part of this story line is that Jason Bourne will not be in the movie – well at least not the “Jason Bourne”. Apparently we learn that Operation Treadstone had other, maybe many “Jason Bournes”.  I loved the books and I thought Matt Damon played the lead character superbly, but this one has me wondering if it is worth seeing.  Check out the Bourne Legacy trailer and decide for yourself.

  1. I have to say, “they” reboot movie brands way too quickly now: Bourne, Spiderman, any superhero movie, actually. The body isn’t even cold before a new one is brought in to usually tell the exact same story. Where’s the creativity?
