Only in America: Iowa issues gun permits to the blind

America’s perverse notion that public safety can only be enhanced by putting more guns on the street never ceases to amaze me. This latest news that Iowa is now issuing gun permits to the legally blind seems insane, but fortunately Michael Barber, a blind man who was interviewed was able to clear up this baffling mystery.  Barber explains, “When you shoot a gun, you take it out and point and shoot, and I don’t think eyesight is necessary.”

If I didn’t know any better, I would think this is a Saturday Night Live spoof, but sadly this is just another example of how insane my country’s pro-gun laws have now become.  You can read more about this here.
