Are you one of those guys who doesn’t like going to museums? Do you find them stuffy and boring? Maybe this exhibit in Los Angeles is more your speed.
Cuban artist, Felix Gonzalez-Torres’, takes the male body out of the gay club and into the museum. The installation at UCLA’s Hammer Museum consists of a lit-up platform, that is empty most of the time except for five minutes a day when a go-go dancer randomly appears. Unscheduled and unannounced, the performer dances to the music blaring from his headphones, inaudible to the guests at the museum. Not your typical installation for sure.
