Boston Public Library to add cafe and studio

Boston Public LibraryLast week The Boston Globe reported that the Boston Public Library’s 1970s-era stone building which is currently being renovated will soon house a new library cafe and space for a satellite home for WGBH public radio and television.

The plan will transform the first floor of the Johnson Building into an all-day cafe and WGBH satellite studio that pedestrians will be able watch through windows on Boylston and Exeter streets, during live broadcasts. This is WGBH’s first satellite station outside its Brighton newsroom and will be housed in an 800-square-foot open space in the same area as the cafe, which will be open during regular library hours, with limited table service in the evening.

You can read more about the studio and cafe in The Boston Globe article, here.

  1. I’m hopeful they will update the basement conference hall at the same time.
