From HuffingtonPost Prince, the legendary musician who brought us countless hits, such as “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry,” has died, TMZ reports. He was 57. The award-winning artist died on Thursday at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota. The cause of death has yet to be released.
News of Prince’s death has hit me the way many said they felt when David Bowie’s passing was reported. Not only was his music incredibly influential but his string of hits and protégés who he nurtured and encouraged was impressive to say the least. Although Prince’s influence had waned over the past 20 years, his legacy is impressive and it bothers me to write about his passing.

I have actually used his lyrics in my introduction to philosophy courses. Artists such as him teach society so much.
May we learn. May we build. May we make the world a better place.
In Judaism we daven that every memory be both a blessing and an inspiration.
So be it. We all should be it.
