Boston’s own The History Project has joined forces with Boston Pride to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City, an action that helped launch the modern LGBTQ rights movement.
Starting this month, banners and posters have gone up around Boston and Cambridge on buildings where LGBTQ history was made. Think of it as Boston’s very own “Gay Freedom Trail”. The History Project has created an interactive map that describes each location’s connection to our city’s LGBTQ history to make it easier for you to follow along. I hope this becomes an annual tradition.
