Monday morning mancandy

For many in the US, the July 4th holiday later this week means that it will be a short work week. To get your week off to a good start, I’m sharing this week’s mancandy Monday post. Have a fun, safe & healthy July4th.

Scruffy Sunday

What do you suppose this guy is thinking about right about now?

Saturday morning coffee

handsome, hairyLooking at this guy’s coffee mug, I’m assuming he is probably a lot of fun to hang out with over a cup of coffee.

Furry Friday

Furry FridayI’m re-posting this Furry Friday post which I first shared in 2013 of my former personal trainer, Stu, who I worked out with for about 3.5 years. Stu became a Dad earlier this year and is a great guy.

Past Furry Friday

Vintage gay

These two look like they are teenagers. I can’t quite figure out where they might be but I’m thinking this may date back to the 1940s based on the pants since they are wearing little else. Anyone care to take a guess or share some insights into the date or location of this couple?

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. pink, handsome, sexy, gorgeous, hairyMay this morning’s post distract you from the fact that it is a Monday morning.

Scruffy Sunday

Saturday morning coffee

male torso, absI 100% approve of  this shirtless distraction’s choice of enjoying a nice French Press. No disrespect but from a taste and environmental perspecive I never got into having my coffee in pods from machines like Keurig. I love the smell of making my coffee and the satisfaction of taking that first sip.

The History Project’s Queer fiascos

Have you lived through a queer fiasco? Did an ex show up somewhere they shouldn’t have, like next to you on a Pride float? Did you get the wrong address to the best party of the decade? Did you trip and fall off the stage of your favorite gay bar in front of your crush?

There are so many stories to tell so the History Project has teamed up with  SpeakOUT Boston and they are brewing up an online storytelling event and fundraiser to relive and remember LGBTQ+ stories. The theme is “Queer Fiascos” which can be interpreted in multiple ways. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. and get your tickets here!

Do you have a story you’d like to share? Email Joan from The History Project at info@historyproject.org or Ellyn from SpeakOUT Boston at (ellyn@speakoutboston.org) for more details.

All proceeds generated via Eventbrite will support SpeakOUT Boston and The History Project

Furry Friday

handsome, hairy, muscles, jocksI assume these two guys are fixated on intermittent fasting or are obsessed with keto so I can envy their physique, but if I were to learn they regularly eat a bag of chips and jar of salsa, I might just hate them. Does this make me a bad person?

US Supreme Court rules Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects LGBTQ workers

Affordable Care Act

Did you know that prior to the Supreme Court’s ruling it was legal to fire someone because they are gay or transgender in 28 states? Well no more… Earlier today the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) surprised pretty much everyone when conservatives Chief Justice John Roberts and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s four liberal justices in the majority, 6 to 3 vote, affirming the language of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits sex discrimination, applies to discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

As a result of this ruling, there are potential implications for addressing discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and seeking to have this applied to other Federal civil rights legislation.  According to CNN, this ruling may be as significant as the Court’s 2015 ruling, recognizing a constitutional right to same-sex marriage. You can read more about the ruling and the implication, here.
