Men in kilts

I’ve never worn a kilt, but I have to admit that when I do eventually get around to trying one on, I’ll be tempted to give it a twirl – just like this guy.

Is it just me or does it feel like the guy has such warm and friendly eyes while the owl tattoo is totally judging you like an over protective parent?

michael thomas + leonard bernsteinLeonard Bernstein spent much of his career as the music director of the New York Philharmonic and went on to score music for West Side StoryPeter Pan, Candide, and On the Waterfront as well as many others. Although he was married, he ultimately came out in the early 1970s when he was in his 50s. The above photo is of Bernstein and Michael Tilson Thomas in 1974. You can read more about this famous American composer in a feature post by Gay Today, Leonard Bernstein: A divided life.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Men in kilts

handsome, hunk, bad boyThis week’s men in kilts post features an oiled up, liquored smoking hunk. The bad boy cliche is a little overdone in my opinion but one can’t deny he has a great body and seems to be rocking the kilt.

Men in kilts

These two University of Edinburgh students seem to be quite comfortable in their kilts. I’m just curious why they are standing beside what appears to be a stripper pole.
