Don’t forget to buy your tickets for this year’s Heels For Hope. The fundraiser will take place on Monday, June 5 at Club Cafe starting at 7PM.
This event is always a blast and raises money for BAGLY – Boston’s Alliance for Gay and Lesbian Youth. Incidentally, Dorothy’s Boutique has coupons available if you need to buy a pair of heels for the event. Use the link I have in this post and show the sales clerk the coupon on your phone when you go shopping to pick up a new pair of pumps or some fun accessories, which you can access here.
Here are a few photos from past Heels for Hope; just to get you pumped.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. 13 years ago today, Massachusetts became the first state in the United States to perform and recognize same-sex marriage. Today, marriage equality is a reality throughout America from the most liberal to the most conservative of states. Think that a small liberal state in New England can’t still change the world for the better – think again.
“Civil marriage is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family…. The decision whether and whom to marry is among life’s momentous acts of self-definition.”
– Massachusetts Chief Justice Margaret Marshall, Excerpt from the Goodridge vs. Dept. of Public Health majority opinion mandating the state of Massachusetts legalize same sex marriage
