Daddy (ˈdadē/noun)
Definition: A typically older, financially established gay man.
Example: If you want to find yourself a daddy perhaps you should check out “Daddy Days” in Provincetown August 25 – 28th this year.
By the time this publishes most of you will have heard about the mass shooting at the gay club in Orlando called Pulse and maybe there will be more information. According to accounts from the scene, the gunman traded gunfire with police officer before entering Pulse at 2 a.m.
Most of the estimated 320 people inside escaped, but an unknown number were taken hostage in a bathroom. Current reports indicate 20 were killed and 42 injured. What a sad way to close out Boston Pride.

After all the fun from Boston Pride the night before I’m pretty sure a lot of guys will feel the same way about this morning, but you need to rally for the Back Bay block party later this afternoon.
I am off to one of my favorite (unofficial) Boston Pride events, the Chandler Street Block Party. If you are in Boston come, find me and say hello. If you are not, check back later this weekend, and I’ll try to post some photographs from all the fun – Happy Pride.

The weekend is so close – don’t stay at home. Bob The Drag Queen and local favorite Laila McQueen from this season’s RPDR will be at Machine tonight and the Imperial Court is hosting a Bear Pride event at Paradise in Cambridge. Come out and attend one of these Boston Pride events.

Fierce (firs/adjective)
Definition: A term that gay men use to describe absolutely everything that was of “exceptional quality”.
Example: How was Pride? Oh my god, it was fierce.
Last month I first wrote about this important new study at Fenway Health. I wanted to share this once again because I think it is important for the LGBT community to participate in studies specific to our health and I hope by sharing this you may consider participating or will share this with friends who might.
You may be eligible if: HIV-uninfected, gay/bi male, 18+, planning to take a vacation in the next few months, and have had unprotected anal sex in the last year. Interested? Participants are compensated $100 over the course of the study and receive PrEP for the duration of their vacation.
