I have not ridiculed Sky Mall shoppers yet this year, so with a 7 hour flight (you read that correctly) from Boston to San Francisco last week I found myself with ample time to peruse the Early Spring 2013 catalog. While there were many items that left me scratching my head wondering “Who buys this crap?“, none had me more baffled than the Mounted Squirrel Head. The write up in the catalog is even more laughable…”Ok, so you didn’t bag this bad boy in person.But you know you would if you could, so we did it for you…“

I should mention that I felt the Mademoiselle Haute Couture Floor Lamp Statue should receive an honorable mention as well.
I assume the buyer of this product probably purchased the A Christmas Story leg lamp which they sold in their 2012 holiday edition catalog.
Steve Annear a reporter for BostInno posted this photo on Twitter last month. Clearly this local CVS understands the value in cross-marketing. With Valentine’s Day later this week, I thought the photo more than appropriate.
The HuffingtonPost called this photobomb from a rogue llama an “instant classic” and I kind of have to agree with them. Taken by Erica Kuschel while on vacation with her husband, this llama apparently is no shrinking violet and inserted itself in Erica’s photograph of the ancient Incan city, Machu Picchu.

In light of my previous post about hotel chain rankings, perhaps, I can suggest Starwood consider spicing up their advertising to get more attention. I have to admit I’d be tempted to learn more about their impressive packages. Then again, maybe this would be an example of why it is best to leave this sort of thing to advertising professionals.

Sweethearts are those cute little candy hearts with endearing messages like “Be Mine” that are shared each February for Valentine’s Day. This year, NECCO will let you customize the messages. During an intermission at a local theater I saw this on the bathroom stall.
While shopping at a department store in Boston I stumbled upon this display. It gave me a good chuckle. I’d be tempted to see how this works but I immediately realized hiding my body issues won’t eliminate them. The only cure for that is getting myself to the gym. However, there appear to be no shortage of rather intriguing products targeting men to help them appear more fit and trim. The next time I’m flying, I’ll have to see if Sky Mall sells any of these products.
Or even worse… the Instaslim, Slimming Tank Top.
