Considering it is Christmas day it seemed like this account would be appropriate to feature. Even though Sergio and I are in the Southern Hemisphere and it is the start of summer here in Brazil, the images shared on this account are much more how I envision traditional Christmas holidays.
Having said that, I’m really enjoying the warm weather and longer days here in Brazil and prefer to look at these photos but as we get ready to come home this serves as a good reminder that winter has arrived.

Sergio and I will be arriving in Brazil soon to spend Christmas with Sergio’s Mom in Belo Horizonte. The photo above is actually from Arraial Do Cabo, a small town about two hours by bus or car from Rio de Janeiro. When I first met Sergio he had a beach house not far from here and we would visit this picturesque town frequently.
This Instagram account is managed by Brazil’s tourism board but you can submit your own photos if you give the account permission to post and if you use the hashtags #lovebrazil or #visitbrasil.

Nigella Lucy Lawson is an English food writer and cooking show host who I’ve enjoyed watching on television for years. She is the kind of person who people tend to either adore or abhor – I fall into the former rather than the latter category and thought that since the holiday season is now in full swing it made sense to showcase an accomplished cook who’s images are all professionally produced and will be sure to entertain and entice.
Below is a photo from a shoot Nigella did last Christmas. One can expect some delicious photos this holiday season so only follow if you can handle temptation.

Sergio and I flew down to South America this past weekend. We are about to begin quite an adventure traveling to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil over the next few weeks. While traveling, my weekly posts about “What’s Happening” and “What to do this weekend” will be temporarily suspended until the New Year.
While traveling I plan to regularly post on Instagram so if you don’t already follow me, please do. It is Thanksgiving in the US, and I am spending the day with Sergio, my parents and a good friend in Portsmouth, NH. I want to wish everyone celebrating this holiday a relaxing and fun day. The photo above dates back to Thanksgiving 2015 when we were visiting Rio de Janeiro with friends.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow so it seems only fitting that I would feature a master chef who can tempt you with both his handsome photos like the one I’ve pulled from chef Pablo’s IG account as well as some of his delicious creations.
Chef Pablo Ranea is from Argentina and I hope to be able to connect with him next month when Sergio and I head to Mendoza, Argentina. Lately, Ranea has made a name for himself with his pop-up restaurants in Argentina and here in the United States. Check out the photo below from his dinner in California this past September. I’m unsure if I’ve featured this Instagram account previously but wanted to share it because the photos of Boston are spectacular.
The official account of The Boston Globe’s boston.com, this Instagram account really shows how beautiful my hometown can be. The account includes photos of various neighborhoods, events and iconic buildings. Anyone who is familiar with Boston will enjoy following this account.

In a little less than a month Sergio and I will be returning to Argentina so I started following this Instagram account run by the country’s tourism board. The photos showcase the beauty of Patagonia, famous attractions like Iguazu Falls as well as city life in Buenos Aires, Cordoba and elsewhere.
The photos from this account are definitely getting me excited about our pending trip. Have you ever been to Argentina before? If so, feel free to share a few tips in the comment section of this post. I’m definitely open to suggestions on what to do and where to go.

Michael Walter is the man behind the Instagram account scooby75. He describes himself as a model and Swiss entrepreneur, but you can learn a bit more about Michael on his website here.
Michael’s Instagram account is filled with photos from model shoots and his travels. I can’t help feeling like I may have met Michael who looks very familiar and happens to reference Boston in his IG profile.

Considering the time of year, it makes sense that I share a little love for Salem, MA which is the “it” place to be each Halloween. While locals will be quick to point out that this little New England village, rich with American history has more to offer than witch trials and eerie (possibly haunted) homes, at this time of year it seems appropriate to focus on this town’s notorious history.
The town is very picturesque and easy to get to by boat in the summer months or by commuter rail from North Station if you don’t have a car. It is definitely worthy of a visit and can offer some good seaside dining options.
