Sergio and I have booked a trip to Montreal that will coincide with Montreal Jazzfest 2018, which takes place next month. We’ve both been to Montreal before but have not visited the city in about 10 years so I’m looking for suggestions on places to go, sites to see and / or favorite restaurants. I’ll be doing a bit of research on my own, but I’ve come to rely on readers’ suggestions.
I’d love to hear from you about:
– Sites we should definitely visit
– Neighborhoods of interest
– Restaurant and dining suggestions
Feel free to leave suggestions / tips as comments on this blog post or you can reach out to me directly at bosguymail@gmail.com.
Grab your favorite pumps and head over to Club Cafe tonight for Boston Pride’s annual Heels for Hope party which starts at 7PM. This year marks the 5th anniversary. Ticket sales have been stronger than years past as the event has grown but if you’re lucky a few tickets may still remain.
Check their Facebook page for details: Heels for Hope 2018: Under a Big Top.
Boston Pride has officially started. In lieu of posting my weekly “What’s Happening” post, I will be publishing a daily post featuring some of the official (and unofficial) Boston Pride events happening that evening. I hope you enjoy this week – I will unfortunately be in NYC for work missing much of the fun.

Late last month a new report entitled, Equality and Equity Advancing the LGBT Community in Massachusetts, was released by The Boston Foundation. The report shines a bright light on the size of and the challenges faced by the LGBT community in Massachusetts.
A jaw-dropping 16% of 18- to 24-year olds in Massachusetts identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or something else, according to researchers from Boston Indicators, part of the Boston Foundation and the Fenway Institute, part of Fenway Health. The LGBT community composes roughly 5% of the state’s population overall, making the commonwealth the “second gayest” state in the country behind Vermont, according to the report.
Despite being a leader in gay rights for more than four decades, LGBTQ youth still face some daunting hurdles. The report points out that nearly half of lesbian, gay or bisexual youth in our state have considered suicide as compared to 11% of their non-LGB peers. The report delves into much more detail about the strides we’ve made and the challenges that remain. Read the full report here, Equality and Equity Advancing the LGBT Community in Massachusetts.
How lovely would it be to wake up to this handsome face in bed with you?
