Don’t want the weekend to end? Head over to the Lawn on D this evening. To celebrate their opening weekend for the 2016 summer they will be showing Fever Pitch on a 40′ drive-in movie scree with a high-definition and concert grade sound system. Popcorn and other movie snacks will be available for purchase.
An article with a similar title was sent to me by a reader and friend of this blog and it made me laugh so I thought I’d share it with you for some light reading.
According to art historian Ellen Oredsson, the reason virtually every ancient statue you’ll ever see has a rather small penis is because of cultural perceptions and biases of the time. Apparently, big penises were associated with specific negative characteristics: foolishness, lust and ugliness. By contrast the ideal man was meant to be rational, intellectual and authoritative and a small penis allowed a man to remain coolly logical.
Who can say if this is true or not but the brief and colorful article (they use a bit more direct language) can be read in its entirety here.

Participating artists featured above left to right: Izzy Berdan, Sisterswex, Thomas Reale, Ashley Lucas, Roneil Smith, Fernando DeOliveira, Aleks Banner, Rachel Schwemin, Pilar Quintana, Joshua Wilmoth.
I have teamed up with my friend, Fernando DeOliveira, who is an artist and gallery owner to present an art show that will open during Boston Pride on Thursday, June 2nd. The Boston Pride theme of Solidarity Through Pride served as the inspiration for the artists to create their work and the South End, Alternative Art Space Gallery will showcase these works from local LGBT artists (many of whom have never shown their work before).
OPENING CHAMPAGNE RECEPTIONS:
Thursday, June 2, 5–9 p.m. & Friday, June 3, 5–9 p.m.
Mark the opening champagne receptions in your calendars and join me on Thursday, June 2nd and / or Friday, June 3rd (coinciding with First Friday) to see the great work and support these local LGBT artists. Recently Patrick Lentz submission arrived at the gallery (shown below). Like the event’s Facebook page for more information and to see the artists’ works as they arrive.

Much thanks to Brenton for sharing this video (see below) on his Aussielicious blog last week. After watching it I thought I would post it on my blog too because it is spectacularly shot and really quite beautiful; the perfect way to spend a few minutes as you wind down on a Sunday and get ready for work tomorrow.
According to Brenton’s blog post, the video was a creative collaboration and experiment between the gymnast and slackline expert Louis Boniface and classical violinist Olivier Pierre. The project was art directed by Nicolas Romieu.
If you like this sort of thing you can follow Louis Boniface on YouTube, here.
