The 2012 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series returns to Boston Harbor today. As they did last year, Red Bull Cliff Divers will climb to the top of the Institute of Contemporary Art building on Fan Pier and dive from a 92′ platform into Boston Harbor.
Todday, August 25th from 4PM – 7PM @ICA in the Seaport
This is a free event that is well worth checking out. Here is a 2-minute clip from last year to show you what you can expect to see later today.
Is it just me or does the combination of the facial expressions on these two players, their body positioning and the headline to the left seem to all say “porn”?
This post seems to be in keeping with my previous suddenly it makes sense posting from last week. How did I miss this overtly sexual imagery when I was in high school? I’m certain I would have played more sports then.
The London Olympics games have introduced me to so many new sports. With all the attention on sports like handball — doesn’t that sound naughty? I can hardly say it without laughing — I’d nearly forgotten the appeal of wrestling. These images photographed by Brent Martin have me wishing I watched more wrestling matches.
Keeping with the aquatic theme from last week’s suddenly it makes sense post, I thought I’d share this very cool photo from the London Olympic games. Why isn’t synchronized diving on every weekend? I can watch this all day long. Did you watch synchronized diving this year?
What Olympic sporting event(s) do you enjoy watching?
BuzzFeed has been sharing humorous photos of athletes while they have been focusing on their events and performances. However it was their collection of shot-put photographs from earlier this week that had me smiling and chuckling out loud.
American, Kurt Roberts, is shown above, but if you’d like to see the full list of photos link to the BuzzFeed Article here.
I have a regular post called Suddenly it makes sense. Recently, I’ve had posts on my blog regarding surfing, gymnastics, and back in late June I featured water polo.
However, after seeing the BuzzFeed article 33 Things to love about water polo, I realized I didn’t do the sport justice. Here are some images of water polo Olympians. If you’ve never bothered to watch the game, perhaps after viewing these pictures you’ll take an interest in the sport.

Last night Procter & Gamble and Gillette wished Team USA well in the London Olympics by projecting holograms of two Olympic athletes during a light show in Boston at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Shown above is a 60-foot hologram of sprinter Tyson Gay.

One month from today the 2012 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series will return to Boston Harbor. If you missed this free event last year you need to mark the date in your calendar and come down to the Seaport neighborhood to watch this awesome display of athleticism and pure cojones to dive from the top of the ICA into Boston harbor. Here is a 2-minute clip from last year to show you what you can come to expect.
His dominance in tennis combined with his good looks has made him one of my favorite athletes. What athlete(s) do you admire?
