5th annual Heels for Hope will be on Monday, June 4th
Mark your calendars because one of the best events the week of Boston Pride, Heels for Hope, has announced that the 2018 event will take place at Club Cafe Monday, June 4th.
I’ll be sad to miss this year’s event – I will be in NYC for a far less fabulous work event, but I hope you will attend the event and head over to Dorothy’s Boutique on Mass Ave and pick up a new pair of pumps to celebrate.
You can stay up to date on all the latest news regarding this year’s event by liking the Heels for Hope Facebook page. If you don’t have a Facebook account or rarely visit it, no worries as you know I’ll be writing about the event to keep you up to date, HeelsForHopeBoston.

Zeitgeist Stage presents: Steve
Last weekend I was able to see, Steve, a play from Boston’s Zeitgeist Stage. The show’s simple staging and cast of six makes the small theater seem even more intimate. When I arrived I didn’t know quite what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised by the witty writing, which is chalk-full of Broadway musical zingers and references.
The play centers on Steven, a former Broadway chorus boy and waiter turned stay-at-home dad, who finds his relationship on the rocks. While fingers are pointed and accusations are made, friends close to the couple become entwined in the drama. The show has several funny moments and a surprisingly touching ending that left my friend who came to the show with me a tad misty eyed.

The play runs for 100 minutes and does not have an intermission. This is a great show to see with friends and fortunately tickets remain. All shows take place here in the South End at the Plaza Black Box Theater at the Boston Center for the Arts. Performances run through March 24th Wednesday thru Sunday and are a very affordable, so go check it out and let me know what you think.
Vintage gay
No idea when or where this photo was taken but I love the safari hat (is that what it is called) in the guys hand and it makes me wonder where these two guys were canoodling (and when). Any guesses?
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Get your tickets to Boston Ballet’s Parts In Suite
The Boston Ballet’s spring season is opening later this week with Parts In Suite, a program of works by three very prolific choreographers. For those who may not be as familiar with ballet, programs like Parts In Suite provide an excellent introduction. This particular evening at the ballet will show three different styles that may challenge preconceptions you may have about modern ballet and impress you with the Boston Ballet’s grace and athleticism.
The program opens with Jorma Elo’s Bach Cello Suites and a live musical
accompaniment by cellist Sergey Antonov. In Creases marks the Company’s debut in a work by New York City Ballet Resident Choreographer Justin Peck. And lastly, we get to enjoy the ongoing with William Forsythe, when the Boston Ballet presents the Company premiere of hisPas/Parts 2018.
Parts In Suite runs March 9–April 7, at the Boston Opera House. Tickets are currently on sale so don’t delay and come out to support Boston’s arts community.
This week on Instagram: gaypopbuzz
This is the Instagram account of a gay blog I like to read periodically which has penchant for posting photos like the one above so it isn’t exactly a deep account if you get my drift but it is definitely going to liven up your feed if you’re looking for some pg-13 posts to add to your feed.
My only knock on the account is that it lacks any kind of diversity (race, body, etc…) but considering a lot of their photos have worked their way into some of my weekly mancandy blog posts I probably shouldn’t throw too many stones.

Boston’s FLAG flag football
Each Tuesday I feature a different LGBTQ club or organization to help connect gay men living in the Boston area. One such group you may not know about is the oddly named, FLAG flag football.
This recreational football club plays on Saturday mornings and welcomes everyone regardless of your skill level. The league continues to grow and has more than 24 teams and 300 participants. Aside from playing flag football the organization is very social, hosting informal parties, meeting at local bars and volunteering their time. Some of the guys have also enjoyed making videos which I’ve happily shared here on my blog – like this one from several years back.
If you’re interested, note that spring registration is next Monday, on March 12. For more information visit their website at flagflagfootball.com, reach out to them on their Facebook page or email, registration@flagflagfootball.com.
I want to feature the LGBTQ groups and organizations that help people connect and enrich Boston’s gay life. If you’d like to have your club / team featured, please email me at bosguymail@gmail.com or via FB messenger.
