dbar Battle of the Decades continues
dbar’s Battle of the Decades party continues this Saturday featuring music from the 1990s, starting at 10:00 PM. The 1990s had great music from bands and musicians like No Doubt, Madonna, Daft Punk and Whitney Houston.
This week’s party starts at 10PM on Saturday, November 14th

FUZZ Boston is Friday, Nov 13
Tomorrow night get sweaty dancing to all the great music played by DJ Brent Covington and DJ Taffy at the Alley Bar in Downtown Crossing (just blocks from the Park, DTX and State Street T stations).
All the fun starts at 10PM but get there early to have a drink with friends to avoid any lines – now that it is starting to get chilly at nights.
Instagram account Joe Putignano
Last month I wrote about the Instagram account @bearscubsnbeards. This time I wanted to feature the Instagram account of a guy who first came to my attention via one of my favorite blogs, boy culture.
The incredibly handsome Joe Putignano is a best selling author, model, Cirque du Soleil’s Totem and Broadway performer. He also has a very engaging Instagram account filled with an assortment of very distracting photos.

New gay night in Boston: Backstage Thursdays
A new gay night is coming to Boston. About two weeks ago you may have heard the rumblings as they hosted their first night in the Alley off of Boylston Street in the Theater District. While I was not able to locate a Facebook Page, the website confirms tomorrow’s party is a go with doors opening at 9:30PM and no cover to anyone who shows up before 10:30PM.
Say hello to my friend DJ Jim Clerkin who will be spinning all the music, the fabulous Mizery and the hard working bartenders, Tommy, Devon and Mike. American Vaudeville Nightclub a.k.a. “Backstage” is located at 19 Boylston Place, Boston, MA 02116. You can check out their website here
Community Servings, Pie In The Sky 2015
Thanks to the help of volunteers, corporate sponsors and staff, Community Servings prepares and delivers 9,600 lunches and dinners each week to families who are home bound with an acute life-threatening illness. Each November Community Servings’ Pie in the Sky fundraiser raises money to help them continue these important services.

Boston’s Latino night returns Wed. Nov. 11th
Latino Wednesday is back for one night only to bring the 1st Arena Pre-Party to Boston. Alex Remann of ARENA FESTIVAL is producing the event and bringing DJ Fabio Luigi from London. Think of Wednesday’s party as a teaser for the main event “ARENA”, that will take place in Playa del Carmen on the Riviera Maya from January 27 – February 1, 2016.

Jordan Smith on The Voice
Sergio and I have been watching The Voice this season, and ever since the blind auditions I’ve been a bit obsessed with one contestant in particular, Jordan Smith. The unlikely singer from coal country in Kentucky has an amazing voice, but it is his comments after singing that touch my heart the most; unfortunately neither clip capture what I’m talking about but check out his rendition of Chandelier in the video above and his performance from last night when he sang Halo by Beyoncé.
Anyone else watching The Voice? I’m curious if you also think this guy is special.
Boy Culture blog celebrates 10 years
One of my favorite blogs, boy culture, celebrated its 10-year anniversary this past Friday. My blog isn’t quite as large or prolific, but after writing for eight years, I can appreciate the commitment and wanted to extend my congratulations to Matt.
Blogging is an outlet that has provided me much satisfaction through the years and a lot of that comes from getting to meet and know bloggers locally and elsewhere. Bravo Matt – congratulations on this milestone anniversary for you and your blog.
