Ptown’s Art House unveils new plans at public meeting on March 11
Earlier this week the owners of the Provincetown Performing Arts Center (a.k.a. The Art House) shared rendering of a newly expanded building. On Monday, March 11, the owners plan to share the details of the redesign at the Board of Selectmen meeting. The new design will house 167-seats for shows, include new balcony-level seating and separate entrance, lobby and projection capabilities.
If approved, the new venue will open next year in the summer of 2020.
Vintage gay
I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Email me at bosguymail@gmail.com.

Even though summer is still a few months away, signs of spring will be here soon and with January and February now in the past, the days are getting longer and (hopefully) warmer in the coming weeks.
One of Sergio and my favorite places to visit is Provincetown. In the coming weeks signs of life will return as stores and restaurants begin to open on the weekends. To help those of you who are suffering Ptown withdrawals, I’d suggest you consider following this Instagram account which takes one beautiful photo after another of this quaint, New England seaside fishing village and gay haven.

LGBTQ conference at Harvard: March 8-9
The LGBTQ Conference at Harvard returns this coming weekend (March 8-9). This year’s theme is Partners in Justice and Equity.
2019 LGBTQ Conference at Harvard: Partners in Justice and Equity
This year’s conference will explore how LGBTQ+ people—activists and advocates, inside and outside of social and political institutions—are working to bring explicitly queer values of love, courage, and liberation to the places where they are needed most. Our goal is to think, plan, and implement in the direction of a better future, not just for LGBTQ+ people, but for all. The conference is open to the public and this year will include 35 guest speakers and panelists who range from social and community activists to artists to elected politicians.
This conference is a wonderful opportunity to come together, listen and learn, and help strengthen our community.

30 years ago: Like a Prayer by Madonna
Few things can make me feel older than stumbling upon anniversaries like this. On Friday, March 3, 1989 (thirty years ago – gulp), Madonna released the lead single “Like A Prayer” from her fourth album by the same name. The CD wouldn’t be released until later that month on the 21st. I can assure you I was at Strawberry Records that day picking up the CD scented with patchouli oils infused in the packaging to simulate church incense.
