I am unsure if I’ve previously posted this photo of George Dyer with his lover Francis Bacon on the Oriental Express in 1965. The first met in 1963 and stormy relationship full of drama that would end tragically. In 1971, just two days before the opening of the Francis Bacon Retrospective at the Grand Palais in Paris, Dyer was found dead from a drink and drugs overdose in the bathroom of the Hotel des Saint-Pères in Paris.
